Type Locality and Naming

Along the city of Boordy, Alai range. V.B. Goryanov, L.V. Kusnary in 1958 (176, p.18). Stratotype on the northern slope of Mount Boordy, upper course of Boordysaya. Lower formation in Alay Gr.

Synonym: Boordinskaya Suite, Боординская св.


Lithology and Thickness

Dolomites and limestones containing loaf-shaped flint concretions. Thickness 180-750m

Lower contact

It lies conformably or sometimes with erosion on the Arpalyk Fm

Upper contact

It is conformably or with hidden unconformity overlain by the Adyrakou Fm. (441; 460).

The lower part with tabulates - *Favistella rhenana* Frech.; corals - *Neostringophyllum cf. waltheri* Yoh. and brachiopods - *Stringocephalus burtini* Defr., belong to the lower Givetian substage; the upper part with amphiporids - *Amphipora patokensis* Riab.; corals - *Neostringophyllum cf. heterophylloides* Frech., *Thamnophyllum cf. murchisoni* Penecke, corresponds to the lower Frasnian substage
